eCard Animation

I wanted to create a user interface animation for this project. I received a Kindle as a gift over the holidays last year, and now I don’t go anywhere without it. That is what gave me the idea to create a Kindle interface animation.

As of July 2023, I have read 13 books since I received my Kindle as a gift in December 2022. Since I use my Kindle often and don’t go anywhere without it, I wanted to create an animation. I started thinking about how I use my Kindle and what buttons I press to read comfortably.

I created a flow chart of how I get to my current book, from opening the Kindle to locking it and closing the case. I got the inspiration for how the lock screen should look by looking at what the Kindle shows me when in rest mode. I chose the book I wanted to showcase by thinking of my favorite author Colleen Hoover. I used Illustrator as well as Photoshop to help create the design of the Kindle. Then I imported everything into After Effects to complete the animation.
