#Ferguson Case Study

This case was another example of how social media can be used for good and bad. This was a harrowing story; however, it is important because people came together to fight for what is right. This case was about a young man, Michael Brown, who was shot multiple times by police officer Darren Wilson. Social media was used by creating the hashtag #Ferguson. People came together from all over the world to stick up against police brutality and justice since the officer was found not guilty.

When starting this article, I was unfamiliar with what had happened, so I completed some research. From there, I started organizing the information into a logical order and started writing. This case became what it was due to the social media factor. The hashtag #Ferguson was used on Twitter 11.6 million with retweets and 1.9 million without retweets. This was one of the first times an issue like this was brought out globally, even though it has been a major problem.
